For the second time in recent months, a New York City man has been found dead, floating in a creek located near a massive music complex in Brooklyn, police said.
The body of 27-year-old John Castic was found Tuesday morning in Newton Creek three days after he was last seen at a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage night club, according to the New York Police Department. A person who spotted the body in the waters in East Williamsburg, an area in the northwestern portion of the borough, called 911 around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The NYPD's harbor unit, responsible for search and rescue operations along the city's port, removed the male from the creek and medics pronounced him dead shortly after, police said.
Prior to his disappearance, Castic, who lived in lower Manhattan, had attended a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage, a popular outdoor concert space that is part of the Avant Gardner entertainment complex. Castic, who was an analyst at Goldman Sachs according to multiple reports, was last seen around 3 a.m. Saturday at the venue, located just blocks away from the creek, according to police.

Another man was found dead in the creek in June
Castic is the second person whose body has been found this summer in Newton Creek after last being seen at the Brooklyn Mirage. USA TODAY could not immediately reach a spokesperson at Avant Gardner for comment.
Karl Clemente, 27, of Queens, vanished from outside the same venue on June 11 and was found floating dead in the creek five days later on June 16, according to police. Clemente had last been seen around 10 p.m. on June 11 outside of the club and was reported missing two days later.
New York police said that the city's medical examiner's office will conduct autopsies on both men to determine causes of death. USA TODAY could not immediately reach a representative with the medical examiner's office Wednesday morning.
